On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Colonel R Vijai Anand, SM, a decorated officer of the Mechanised Infantry with wide counter-insurgency experience, graced the celebrations at Nirmala Matha Hr. Sec. School, Coimbatore. A twice-decorated gallantry awardee with the Sena Medal (SM) and a Mention-in-Despatches, Colonel Anand stands as a shining example of courage and commitment in service to the nation.

The event began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. Addressing the students, Colonel Anand recounted inspiring tales of courage, discipline, and unwavering dedication to the nation. He emphasised the importance of integrity, hard work, and selfless service, urging the young audience to contribute meaningfully to the progress of the country.
