The 29th Infantry Centre Commandants’ Conference was held at the Madras Regimental Centre, Wellington on 24 and 25 March 2026 under the chairmanship of Lieutenant General Ajay Kumar, Director General of Infantry. The conference deliberated on key aspects of infantry modernisation, capability development and leveraging technology to enhance combat effectiveness in rapidly evolving national & global security order.
The conference also focused on upgradation of training infrastructure, promotion of Al driven military solutions, green energy initiatives, domain specific skill training to enhance the employability and adaptability of trained soldier in modern battlefield, review the progress of operationalisation of BHAIRAV Bn and measures aimed at welfare of Veterans and Veer Naris & Veer Matas.
The platform served as an opportunity to bring together the leadership from Infantry Regimental Centre, Record Offices and representatives of Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army) to chalk out a future plan of action towards making a future ready, technologically and Al enabled infantry.
