MKU Limited and PT Republikorp Sign MoU to Localise Electro-Optics Manufacturing in Indonesia Under TKDN Framework

MKU Limited, India’s leading defence technology company, and PT Republik Korpora Indonesia (Republikorp), Indonesia’s foremost private defence holding company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and localise electro-optics manufacturing capabilities within Indonesia. The partnership is structured in alignment with Indonesia’s Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN) — the national local content framework — and marks a significant milestone in the deepening defence industrial cooperation between India and Indonesia.

A Strategic Partnership for the Indo-Pacific Age

Under the MoU, MKU’s Netro Optronics division will work with Republikorp to establish a localised production and integration framework for advanced electro-optic systems — encompassing night vision, thermal imaging, multi-sensor fusion platforms, and situational awareness solutions for both soldier and platform applications. The arrangement envisions technology transfer, joint manufacturing, local certification, and the integration of MKU’s optronics portfolio into Indonesia’s defence ecosystem.

Republikorp, established in 2013 and recognised as Indonesia’s largest privately-owned defence industrial holding, brings to the partnership an extensive network of manufacturing facilities and regulatory expertise. The company has recently formalised landmark localisation agreements with global defence majors spanning unmanned aerial systems, guided missiles, and naval platforms — and is now applying the same localisation-driven approach to advanced optronics, further strengthening Indonesia’s sovereign defence manufacturing ecosystem.

India’s Export Ambition — and MKU’s Role in Delivering It

India’s defence exports have reached an all-time high of ₹38,424 crore in Financial Year 2025–26 — a 62.66% surge over the previous fiscal — as the nation advances towards its target of ₹50,000 crore in annual defence exports by 2029. Private sector companies, contributing ₹17,353 crore of this record, have become an indispensable pillar of India’s export success story.

Germany, MKU is trusted by 230+ armed forces across more than 100 countries.

We develop and manufacture certified smart defence solutions across soldier systems, platform survivability and electro-optics, empowering over 3 million personnel and armouring more than 3,000 platforms worldwide.

MKU Armours Europe’s Guardians: Empowering Police, Customs & Emergency Responders Across Spain, the UK, and Latvia

MKU Limited, a global defence technology company specialising in advanced ballistic protection and optronics systems for soldiers and platforms, announces a landmark series of international contracts that mark a defining chapter in the company’s global journey: supplying its cutting-edge ballistic protection solutions to Spanish Police Forces, UK Customs, and Latvia’s Emergency Medical Services — three distinct arms of the modern security ecosystem, united by a singular demand for technology that performs without compromise.

Empowering Spain’s Frontline Defenders Through Advanced Ballistic Protection

In a significant step forward for India’s growing defence export footprint, MKU Limited has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of the Interior, Government of Spain, for the supply of advanced ballistic protection systems to Spanish police forces. Under the contract, MKU will supply the Kavro TAC-P IF+ Plate Carrier and the Kavro ACH 1026 B Ballistic Helmet — engineered to deliver reliable protection against high-velocity ballistic and fragmentation threats, while ensuring the tactical mobility, comfort, and operational endurance that modern policing demands.

The contract reinforces MKU’s long-standing presence in Spain — a relationship rooted in over two decades of defence collaboration — and reflects the growing institutional confidence in Indian-developed protection solutions across European law enforcement. It also carries broader strategic relevance, arriving at a time when the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, concluded in January 2026, is opening new pathways for defence and security cooperation between India and Europe.

Advancing UK Border Protection Through Next-Generation Ballistic Helmets

The nature of modern security threats demands protection that goes beyond the battlefield. At borders, ports, and checkpoints, customs personnel operate in environments of growing complexity — and it is here that MKU has secured a contract to supply its Kavro HCH 133 B ballistic helmet to UK Customs, bringing advanced NIJ Level III A-certified protection to one of Britain’s most critical frontline services.

Across Borders, Across Missions: Delivering Trusted Protection to the World’s Frontline Guardians

Across Spain, the United Kingdom, and Latvia — three nations, three distinct operational environments — MKU’s commitment to delivering uncompromising protection is finding expression at the highest levels of institutional trust.

As this chapter unfolds, MKU will bring its full portfolio to Eurosatory 2026, the world’s premier land and air-land defence exhibition, held June 15–19 at Paris-Nord Villepinte, where over 100,000 defence and security professionals converge to define the direction of global security technology.

Commenting on these developments, Mr. Karan Gupta, VP – International Sales, MKU, said: “Each of these contracts speaks to something larger than an individual win. Whether it is a police officer in Spain, a customs official at a British border, or a paramedic responding to a crisis in Latvia — every one of them deserves protection they can trust without question. That is the standard MKU holds itself to, and the trust these institutions have placed in us is a reflection of what Indian defence manufacturing is capable of delivering to the world.”
