Nurturing Talent, Building the Nation: MIC&S Archers Make Ahilyanagar Proud

Young archers of the Mechanised Infantry Centre and School (MIC&S), Indian Army, Ahilyanagar, have brought laurels to the institution by delivering an outstanding performance at the Mini Sub-Junior State Level Archery Competition held at Solapur, Maharashtra. Demonstrating remarkable skill, discipline and determination, the children once again made the institution proud through their achievements at the state level.
In the individual category, Jivisha Agarwal secured the second position. In the team event, the Ahilyanagar Girls Team emerged victorious amongst 16 participating teams and clinched the gold medal. The winning team comprised Jivisha Agarwal, Nidhi, Kavya and Divya. Adding further distinction to this achievement, the entire girls team has been selected to participate in the National Championship, scheduled to be held from 26 March to 07 April 2026 at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
The accomplishment of these young archers reflects the dedicated training, encouragement and institutional support provided by MIC&S. Special appreciation is due to the coaches, Havildar Rakesh Ninama and Naik Sunil of Mechanised Infantry Centre and School, whose committed mentorship and guidance were instrumental in preparing the team for this success.
This achievement stands as a shining example of the Indian Army’s commitment to nation building by identifying, nurturing and encouraging young talent, while providing a supportive ecosystem in which children can train, excel and flourish in the field of sports.
