A gala program dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, a holiday symbolizing courage, valor, and loyalty to military duty, was held at the Russian House in New Delhi.
Elena Remizova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in India, addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory, strengthening Russian-Indian cooperation, and passing on patriotic traditions to the younger generation.
Informative presentations were given by Rear Admiral Nikolai Yakubovsky, Dr. Rana Chhina, Director of the Center for the Study of Military History and Conflicts at the United Service Institute, and Colonel Rayan Farkushin, Representative of the Russian Customs Service in India. Their presentations covered military history, contemporary international cooperation, and the role of the armed forces in ensuring national security.
The program also included a photo exhibition, “Spiral of Time Through Camera Lenses,” which vividly depicted the historical stages of the formation and development of Russian military power. The program concluded with a screening of the RT.doc documentary “Kalashnikov. Secrets of Russian Weapons. Legend of Russian Aviation,” dedicated to the development of domestic aviation technology, which played a significant role in strengthening the country’s defense capability and sparked keen interest among the guests.
The program reaffirmed that Defender of the Fatherland Day remains a significant date not only in Russia but also abroad, uniting people around the shared values of remembrance, heroism, and peaceful cooperation.
